Melalui Optimus G, LG Kembali Menjadi yang Pertama di Dunia Terapkan Snapdragon S4 Pro

Setelah pertama kali diungkapkan resmi selama IFA 2012 lalu, dan kemudian beberapa kali tampil menggoda dari video perkenalan melalui halaman Facebook LG, akhirnya LG Optimus G resmi diluncurkan di Korea Selatan hari ini 18 September 2012. Dan tidak bisa dipungkiri, inilah smartphone Android terkuat yang eksis di dunia hingga hari ini.

Beberapa detail diungkapkan melalui email press release yang kami terima Seperti yang sudah kami ungkapkan dari artikel sebelumnya, "monster" cantik LG ini menyerahkan kendali antar muka melalui layar berukuran 4.7-inchi dari material True HD IPS Plus yang beresolusi 1280 x 768 pixel dengan kerapatan 320ppi serta aspect ratio 15:9. Chipset yang menjalankannya dari keluarga Qualcomm, tepatnya Snapdragon S4 Pro (varian terbaru dan tercanggih dari prosesor Snapdragon) yang memiliki empat inti prosesor dengan masing-masing bisa dipacu hingga 1.5GHz. Jatah RAM hingga 2GB pun sangat membantu ketika Droid yang datang dengan versi Ice Cream Sandwich (serta rencana update Jelly Bean pada akhir tahun) ini ingin diajak ber-multi tasking. Kemudian menjadi salah satu target LG yang memiliki jatah paten LTE terbesar dunia, mereka juga memberikan dukungan koneksi 4G LTE untuk Optimus G ini, untuk menemani fitur konektivitas seperti NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, dan Wi-Fi ber-DLNA.

Di bagian belakang kamu bisa menemukan kamera beresolusi 13-megapixel (atau 8-megapixel, tergantung pasar) yang dilengkapi lampu flash LED. Seperti layarnya yang sudah HD, kamu bisa merekam video dengan kualitas full HD 1080p melalui kamera utamanya itu. Dan kemudian di balik casing belakangnya tersembunyi baterai 2,100 mAh yang diklaim mampu memberi impresi waktu bicara hingga 15 jam non-stop, atau waktu standby hingga 335jam. Menganut desain L-Style seperti beberapa Optimus terbaru mereka (Optimus L7, L5 dan L3), smartphone ini masih mampu mempertahankan dimensi yang kompak meskipun layarnya cukup lebar, dengan ukuran 131.9 x 68.9 x 8.45mm dan berat 145gram. Kemudian default internal storage-nya juga lumayan besar, mencapai 32GB, yang masih bisa diperbesar menggunakan microSD.

Kemudian jika kita bicara Android, dimana nyaris satu-sama-lain hanya terlihat beda dari sisi eksternal saja, vendor pun harus jeli mengoptimalkan softwarenya. Untuk Optimus G ini LG memberikan antar muka Optimus UI versi terbaru. Banyak fungsi keren yang sudah dipersiapkan untuk membuat pengalaman berinteraksi dengan antar mukanya makin terasa adiktif, terutama yang memaksimalkan kemampuan multi-tasking-nya, yang oleh LG lebih suka menyebutnya sebagai "cross-tasking.” Menjalankan beberapa proses tanpa batasan tersebut menjadi kelebihan perpaduan Snapdragon S4 Pro dan RAM 2GB.

Seperti melalui QSlide Function yang menunjukkan dua tampilan antar muka sebuah aplikasi berbeda bersamaan dalam satu layar, sehingga kamu bisa menjalankan dua proses bersamaan dalam tampilan satu layar penuh – mengirim pesan atau surfing web sambil menonton video. Kemudian ada Live Zooming yang memungkinkan kita men-zoom video hingga lima kali ketika video sedang di-streaming atau diputar. Dual Screen Dual Play menjadi fitur yang ditunggu mereka yang memaksimalkan handheld sebagai media presentasi. Karena melalui fitur tersebut antara Optimus G dan layar eksternal bisa menampilkan content yang berbeda selama aktivitas presentasi. Misalnya, di layar eksternal menampilkan content presentasi, sedangkan layar Optimus G berisi catatan yang dibacakan untuk menjelaskan presentasi tersebut.

Beberapa value added software lainnya familiar kok bagi pengguna Optimus UI versi 3.0 yang eksis melalui Optimus L7 atau L5 (sudah dijual di Indonesia sejak beberapa waktu lalu). Seperti QuickMemo hingga Icon Personalizer yang memberi kita opsi mengedit ikon setiap aplikasi. Tak ketinggalan fitur Application Link memungkinkan kita mengaktifkan aplikasi sesuai kondisi tertentu, misalnya saat alarm yang berbunyi kita matikan -- hmmm, sepertinya mirip dengan fungsi Smart Actions dalam Motorola Droid RAZR XT910 yang penulis gunakan saat ini.

New Form of Cross-Tasking and Engaging UX

Some new UX features that will be included into the Optimus G to showcase its cross-tasking and engaging capabilities are:

• QSlide Function shows two different screens simultaneously on one display. As it doesn’t just show a part of the screen but the entire screen of both functions, the user can complete two tasks concurrently – such as sending a text message or searching the web while watching a video;

• Live Zooming enhances the video-watching experience as users can zoom in up to five times while the video is being streamed for a close-up of one’s child while watching a recorded video from a school recital;

• Dual Screen Dual Play not only allows mirroring between the smartphone and a TV, it also has the ability to display different content on each screen wirelessly. For example, a slide presentation can be displayed on the TV while the Optimus G shows the accompanying speaking notes;

• QuickMemo allows users to write, draw, or jot a memo with their finger directly on the captured screen for sharing instantly with others as an attachment or a URL.
