Toge Productions Brings Infectonator Survivors to Steam Greenlight!
Toge Productions confirmed that they are ready to bring Infectonator Survivors gathering support at Steam Greenlight!
Although it was rumored that Valve will cease Steam Greenlight concept and replace it with a new concept, game developers aren’t discouraged on campaigning their game creation on the crowdsourcing media, including Toge Productions. Fresh from grabbing Armor Games’ Best Mobile Game 2013 through Infectonator: Hot Chase, Toge Productions confirmed that they are ready to bring Infectonator Survivors gathering support at Steam Greenlight!
You might be familiar with Infectonator Survivors since right at last Christmas,Toge Productions released this game’s demo through Infectonator Survivors: Christmas. On its official Steam Greenlight page, Toge Productions describes this game as a “Randomized Permadeath Survival Simulator that combines RTS, Tower Defense, Roguelike, and Management – Simulation gameplay”. Yep, the genre combos surely offer a different gameplay with the previous Infectonator series we all knew. This game also becomes Toge Productions’ first step in trying a new platform after previously tastes the success in Flash and mobile platform.
In Infectonator Survivors, your mission is to lead a group of people to survive the zombie attack. To be successful, you have to gather resources, build defense base, and explore the ways to survive. Toge Productions also states in the official page that every decision made will affect your adventure’s direction. The game randomly generates a different city setting each time you play the game. This game also offers impressive pixel art graphic style, just like other Toge Productions’ game such as Infectonator and Necronator.
Duniaku talks with Kris Antoni, CEO and co-founder of Toge Productions, about their decision to campaign at Steam Greenlight. Here’s the summary:
Duniaku (D): What motivates Toge Productions to put this game at Steam Greenlight?
Kris (K): There are several reasons for us to put Infectonator Survivors at Steam Greenlight. The first one is that Steam user had reached 65 million and the majority is willing to pay. We think it’s an interesting distribution line especially for independent developer like us. The second reason is that we wanted to tap a new market. After trying mobile game market, we wanted to try entering downloadable PC game market. We want to expand our horizon and get a full, 360-degrees view from web, mobile, and desktop platform. We might even enter console platform. We’re currently developing multiplatform game where our in-progress games can be easily exported to various platforms without much porting. The third reason is kinda personal. I always wanted to release a game in Steam platform and able to stand as tall as top games worldwide.
D: Will Infectonator Survivors be released for Flash and Mobile platform? Is there any difference on each version?
K: Infectonator Survivors will still be released for web, iOS, and Android platform. I can’t tell the detail yet but there will be content difference for each platform. Each will have a platform-specific content built.
D: We heard that Steam Greenlight concept will be ceased and replaced by a different concept. What Toge Productions think about it?
K: I don’t think there will be much to worry about since Steam is less likely to dump all project at Greenlight. One thing for sure is that we believe that they change for the better. Instead of being a sitting duck, we think bringing Infectonator to Greenlight is worth trying.
D: Thank you for your time. We hope Infectonator Survivors can get the Greenlit soon and published at Steam!
K: You’re welcome!
Infectonator Survivors follows the lead from DreadOut to campaign at Steam Greenlight. DreadOut itself had earned the green light from Steam and we only have to wait for the game development to be finished to play it at Steam. To give support to Infectonator Survivors so it can get the Greenlit at Steam, you can go to its official page here.
